23 Facts About Beth
Happy February 23rd! Today we’ve got 23 facts about me because I love the number 23 and it is, of course, February 23rd!
I’m 23 years old!
I’ve moved four times in my life. I have lived in 12 houses/apartments in three states (Illinois, Wisconsin, & Florida).
I live in Chicago now & I’m not quite sure I’ll ever leave, I absolutely love it here.
I became an aunt at age four. Though I refused to be called an aunt, I was the big sister.
I have two older siblings and three nephews, but, for the most part, grew up as the only child in the house. This makes me the youngest of my siblings, oldest of the kids in the family, middle of them all, and an only child all at the same time. Hence the well-rounded individual I turned out to be (that’s the youngest in me talking).
As a kid, I wanted to be a marine biologist, teacher, and/or Chief Editor of Vogue or Cosmopolitan. I think this actually sums me up as a person pretty well!
I was a camp counselor for five Summers and it was my absolute favorite job. A few of those Summers were during the pandemic, I even worked in the Summer of 2020, which taught me so much about working with kids of different ages, organization, and most of all, patience.
I am currently an Assistant Wedding Planner and I have been obsessed with all things weddings for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, I’d watch Say Yes to the Dress and Four Weddings with my mom every weekend morning, so maybe blame her?
I realized my passion for event planning through leadership positions in my sorority. That’s right, I was a Panhellenic woman, and my city school Panhel experience was frickin awesome.
Oh also, something really wild and out of character for me is that I was a fraternity sweetheart in college. There’s definitely a story there, it’s actually in part how I met my boyfriend, but let’s get into that some other time, okay?
I am an active member of the Beyhive & I have seen Beyoncé in concert twice, Formation World Tour & Renaissance World Tour. Oh, and you knowww I’ve got tickets to Cowboy Carter!
Speaking of music, I love it! I won Waunakee’s Got Talent (my town’s talent show) in fourth grade singing Nat King Cole’s L-O-V-E. I got a big check for $100 and I spent it on the American Girl 2011 Girl of the Year, Kanani. She had gorgeous long brown hair & was passionate about photography and wildlife, I was absolutely obsessed with her.
I am really, truly, extremely good at doing the worm.
I think I make the best buttered noodles on the planet. Farfalle pasta preferred, butter (well, yes!), SPG (salt, pepper, garlic powder), and, if I’m feeling crazy, Trader Joe’s Aglio Olio seasoning, you’re welcome. You might not be able to get the ratio exactly right on the first try, so just know, if it’s bad when you make it, it’s not me, it’s you <3
I am a Cancer Sun, Cancer Moon, Libra Rising, and boy is that so (un)fortunately accurate. All that to say- I’m very in tune with my emotions & I’m also beautiful!
My best friend's name is Jessica! Where I go, she goes, and where she goes, I go, no questions asked. If you know me, you know her, and if you know her, you know me, that’s just the way it is! So congratulations, now you know her, and that makes you- the luckiest person in the world!
Everyone is so obsessed with The Notebook and I have never gotten the hype. My personal favorite Nicholas Sparks movie is The Longest Ride and I won’t be apologizing for it!
My absolute favorite place in Chicago is a store on Belmont called Good Old Days. I grew up antiquing with my dad and I could genuinely spend hours on hours on hours in this store. Everyone needs to go, but also don’t buy anything I would want because that would be very upsetting for me & my team.
My high school friend group’s “place” was a late-night boba place & also our local Chili’s. At the time, I would frequently order the white queso as my entire entree.
There are vanilla girls, tropical girls, rose girls, etc etc etc, me, personally, I am a *insert fruit here* and cream girly. A little bit of fruit with a little bit of a creamy, vanilla edge is how I want to smell at all times. Something sweet and fruity is always going to call my name.
I love to go thrifting and my most used thrift find is a little green shoulder bag. When I go thrifting, I always go with goal pieces in mind, and more so than not, the thrift gods answer my prayers.
I, very impulsively, got a tattoo of my last initial, “X,” above my left elbow and I frequently forget about it, but I love it. It’s my only tattoo (as of right now) and I got it because ever since I can remember, someone has always had something to say about my last name starting with X, so it became somewhat of a personality trait.
My lucky number is 23! Since my last initial is “X,” in elementary school, I was always at the back of the line, more so than not, 23 was my assigned number, quickly making her my favorite. I see 23 so frequently that it was no surprise to me when I sat down to write this week’s article and saw that this Sunday was the 23rd. So, I decided to roll with it!
I hope this article gave you a little more insight on little ole me & I hope you’ll stick around to learn a little bit more :)
Write you soon!
Beth
Oh! And here’s me with my big check! They spelled my last name wrong by the way, but I can’t even blame them.
